Our Approach

Empowering Farmers through Landscape-based Agroecological Transformation

Happy-farmer

CAT places farmers and communities at the heart of its work through a landscape-based approach. By working at the scale of landscapes, CAT supports the coordinated services, institutions, and systems required for large-scale agroecological change over a sustained period of at least seven years.

This approach brings together diverse stakeholder groups and aligns long-term resources, ensuring that agroecological transitions are viable, durable, and locally rooted.

seeder-field-landscape

CAT is currently developing landscape-level investment and implementation plans
across 11 landscapes.
Each landscape corresponds broadly to a block-level
administrative unit and has been selected based on ecological, social, and institutional criteria.

From these efforts, a common framework for agroecological transformation is emerging grounded in place-based learning and systems thinking.

Our Levers for Change CAT enables agroecological transformation by aligning three key levers—Policy, Markets, and Finance—to support community-led adoption and long-term transitions
